2 February 2022 | Practice Update

Covid-19 Protection Framework RED

Our practice is open to continue to provide care, however we are working a bit differently.

You will be offered a phone or virtual consultation first. You will still receive the same level of expert medical advice as you would if you were at the practice in person.

If a phone or virtual consultation is not appropriate, for example if you have chest or abdominal pain, a face-to-face appointment can still be arranged. You will be asked a series of screening questions and your GP or nurse may call you first.

Standard 15 minute appointments can be booked on myindici. Please consider a phone or virtual consultation when making your appointment. Phone and virtual consultations are available with all our doctors. Normal consultation charges apply.

If your appointment is at the practice, we will continue to ask screening questions via the intercom, it's important that anyone with cold or flu symptoms does not enter the practice.

You must wear a mask at all times in the practice. If you hold a mask exemption please advise the receptionist of your arrival via the intercom and return to your car to wait for your GP or nurse to call you. The GP or nurse will assess your health needs and if required you may be seen in your car or our cabin.

Our waiting room has a maximum capacity of 4. Please arrive for appointments on time. If you arrive early, you may be asked to wait in your car or outside.

NOTE: Standard appointments are 15 minutes to address a single query. If you have more than one query or the matter is complicated, or you are a new patient with a medical history unknown to us, you should phone the practice to book a longer appointment. Patients who attend with long lists of queries, should expect to have these resolved over several appointments, so we don't keep other patients waiting.

Preparing for Covid in our Community
It is only a matter of time before a positive case of COVID-19 is in our community. Most people who get COVID-19 will have a mild to moderate illness, and will fully recover in their own home. For those who need help, the healthcare system will always be available.

Being ready for getting COVID-19 is about making sure you and your household have a plan and know what to do. It will mean your whanau and community can help each other if needed. Download the COVID-19 Readiness Checklist [PDF, 195 KB]

For more information on getting ready see:
Be prepared for COVID-19 | Unite against COVID-19 ( or Be prepared for COVID-19 | Vaccinate Greater Wellington (

Continue to order your repeat prescription on myindici. When messaging your GP, be aware you may be charged if your query is long or complex. Consider a phone or virtual appointment for longer or more complex queries.
